Which way to roll Return to the Black Forest

A return to the Black Forest. p 222 Winter collection.

I am about to roll my cake, But it doesn't say what way to roll it. Is short side over from the body, or long ways from the body? Unless I am being a dingbat???

Hello Sam,

I expect the moment has passed but Delia rolls it from a short end so it makes a good roll.

Lengthways doesn’t give much of a roll.

I’m sure it will taste gorgeous either way.

Thank you. Someone gave me a You Tube Link, showing Delia make this - was so lovely to see and hear her on the screen again. I did roll short side to short - didn't quite end up looking like Delia's, or the picture on top of the recipe that is available on here !!!! but it tastes divine. Thank you for your help x

Hello,

We have the one you have made from Winter Collection..

We also have a layered version, which we show, on the cookery school…

This later version can have the cherries added to the layers. It’s much easier and still looks very impressive.
