Can you freeze fish pie?

Hello Sally,

Yes you can freeze fish pie but it will be different to one that is made fresh. Smoked fish pie freezes very successfully for up to 3 months. A fresh fish pie made with poached fish can be frozen for up to 3 months but it will be much ‘wetter’ when baked compared to one that is freshly made.

Yes. Here is a link to where we show making all in one sauce…

But! If the recipe you are following uses raw fish (ie. not poched or smoked) in the sauce – usually the sauce will need to be thicker as more liquid will come out of the fish as it cooks.
