I am using the Christmas cake recipe for my wedding cake! Cake is made and have been feeding weekly.
It’s 10” / 27cm round and I need to ice it.
Dilemma - Royal or Fondant?
How much quantity of the icing and the marzipan.
Wedding is in 2 weeks so plan is to marzipan at the weekend and ice the following weekend.
Then decorate with wide ribbon and flowers - open to suggestions!

We do not have and tested recipes for this, but I think a kilo of marzipan will cover it and unless you’re practiced with royal icing I’d go with fondant (that you roll). You’ll get a nice clean finish that will be a good backdrop for your ribbon and flowers.
