Get the silver out and polish the glasses, it’s time to celebrate 25 years of Delia Online!

This month’s menu is more than just a collection of Delia's recipes, it’s a tribute to a remarkable milestone. A quarter of a century ago, Delia took her trusted approach to cooking into the digital world, somewhere that home cooks of every level could feel supported, inspired and confident. Twenty-five years on, Delia Online remains just that, a kitchen companion and a place to discover the joy of home cooking.

To mark the occasion, Lindsey has chosen three recipes from Delia’s How to Cook, Book Three, a title that holds special personal memories for her. Published twenty-five years ago, the book formed part of the How to Cook series and was accompanied by the television programmes filmed in Delia’s conservatory at her home in Suffolk. For Lindsey, working on that project was an unforgettable experience.

SShe had an amazing time and remembers the conservatory as a hive of activity. Meticulously preparing ingredients and watching the filming as Delia turned techniques into approachable, achievable steps. The series and the book were all about building confidence. From mastering essential skills to tackling impressive dishes for special occasions, the message was always the same: you can do this.

Her three chosen recipes are particularly fitting for an anniversary celebration as they represent a moment in time when Delia was encouraging a generation of cooks to stretch themselves, to polish up their skills, and perhaps even to 'get the silver out' and entertain with confidence.

So this month’s menu is celebratory in every sense. It honours the legacy of Delia Online, revisits a landmark chapter in Delia’s publishing history, and gives us all an excuse to cook something a little special. Whether you’ve been with us since the very beginning or have discovered Delia Online more recently, we hope these recipes bring a touch of nostalgia, a sense of occasion, and above all, the simple pleasure of a beautifully cooked meal.
