Chocolate Fruit and Nut Refrigerator Cake

Delia’s recipe for Chocolate Fruit and Nut Refrigerator Cake is an absolute gem, especially when the weather is hot and the last thing you want to do is turn on the oven.

It’s a simple, no-cook recipe where the chocolate mixture is packed with crunchy nuts and chewy dried fruit. Everything gets stirred together, popped into a tin, and chilled in the fridge until firm - and that’s it! Other than 8 minutes roasting the nuts, there's no oven, the hob is only switched on to melt the chocolate, and there's very little washing up. It's also really flexible, you can use any combination of your favourite nuts or dried berries, it’s a brilliant make-ahead treat that doesn’t heat up the kitchen. If you want something sweet without breaking a sweat, this recipe totally fits the bill!
