This recipe is Delia's adaptaion of the cake served in Harry's Bar in Venice.
Best served with a Bellini or a cup of strong Italian coffee - failing that, you can recreate the cake yourself which will still taste lovely without the Italian sunshine!
One of the ingredients in this recipe is Marsala, if you aren't sure what it is, you can read all about it in our Travels with Delia feature. The Marsala adds a rich, depth of flavour, but if you want an alcohol free version, take a look at Lindsey's advice at the bottom of the recipe. It also makes a lovely dessert, and is included in our Dessert Cakes collection.
