Yes, this really is easy.
You can now buy packs of three different selections of ready-prepared game or you can use all cubed venison. Combine the game with a good-quality bought red wine sauce and a glass of port, cook it slowly while you forget about it, then finally top with ready-made puff pastry – and everyone will think you've been working for days.
NOTE: packs may no longer be easy to find in supermarkets since Delia originally wrote this recipe, but she has given an alternative of using only venison. If you have a good butcher they may make up the amount needed for you, otherwise a Google search shows many online suppliers.

You will also need a large, shallow, heatproof pie or baking dish, 3½ pint (2 litre) capacity.
