I first introduced this in 1978, but I've changed it into less of a family supper dish and into something more suitable for entertaining.
Serve it with some sprigs of watercress for garnish, and I always think fish pie is lovely with fresh shelled peas.

Answered by Lindsey: Hello Sally, Yes you can freeze fish pie but it will be different to one that is made fresh. Smoked fish pie freezes very successfully for up to 3 months. A fresh fish pie made with poached fish can be frozen for up to 3 months but it will be much ‘wetter’ when baked compared to one that is freshly made. Best wishes Lindsey

Answered by Lindsey: Hello, Either of these can be prepared and frozen before cooking, then I think it’s best t defrosted overnight in the fridge before baking. Or if you forget to get it out if the freezer, you can bake from frozen and give it an extra 15 minutes. Best wishes Lindsey
You will also need an ovenproof baking dish measuring 9 inches (23 cm) square and 2 inches (5 cm) deep, buttered.
Pre-heat the oven to gas mark 6, 400°F (200°C).
